Hair Mask DIY

This hair mask DIY is my go-to quick fix for keeping my hair moisturized and for giving my hair a natural wavy effect. It’s perfect for all hair types.

This mask is a three-layer process with three key ingredients. You don’t need any special equipment, however, I prefer to use vinyl gloves because I don’t like the feeling of all the oils and my hair on my fingers (lol I’m probably just weird). This also ensures that all of the nutrients go straight to your hair and aren’t absorbed through the skin on your hands.

Begin with dry uncleaned hair.

You will need:

I start by spraying the Heavenly Halo Hair Tonic lightly through each section of my hair. I part my hair on each side and make sure to evenly distribute each spritz before brushing to achieve even coverage. This Hair Tonic is infused with biotin & vitamins D, E to ensure hydration and overall hair quality as well as enhance thickness. It hydrates each strand to the core and gives hair natural shine. This serum also helps to reduce breakage and shedding.

Now apply the Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil

The easiest way to do this, since the castor oil is so thick in consistency is to hold the ends of your hair to the tip of the nozzle. Push down and apply 2 to 3 drops evenly the ends of the hair only. Rub thoroughly through the tips of your hair. Castor oil is said to hold one of the most potent forms of hydration and restoration. It also reduces signs of aging when used on the skin. Jamaican Black Castor Oil is likely the purest of all castor oils and is said to contain the most nutrients This hair product is essential for achieving natural waves in your hair.

Finally, apply the coconut oil from root to tip, evenly distributing. Brush hair out to ensure even coverage and then wrap hair into a low bun and secure with a hair tie. Though, if you carefully drape a towel around your shoulders to prevent the oil from getting all over that is slightly preferable to tying your hair up. Alternatively, head down to your local dollar store and buy a shower cap to cover your hair.

You will need to leave in the oils for at least 30 minutes. After 30 minutes rinse your hair and then wash with your usual shampoo and conditioner. *bonus tip for extra wavy hair* add 1-2 drops castor oil to the shampoo and conditioner you currently use and mix*

When you leave the shower DO NOT brush your hair but lightly pat with a towel and then allow to air dry completely and THEN brush your hair thoroughly. Repeat once a week or as often as you would like.

If you can stand it or don’t mind using an easy dry shampoo a couple days of the week, make this the only time you wash your hair (this is where the shower cap also comes in handy, so you don’t neglect to cleanse the rest of your body). That is optional, however. Thank you for reading and don’t forget to share with your friends and family! This is a hair care game changer.
