Uses, benefits, and how to make.

Rose water has been used for centuries as a means of beautification. You can drink this water to live your life in a dreamy rose like state- drink before bed for rose garden dreams- or use it on your face as a toner.

The first step in creating a rosier life is acquiring the actual rose. You can buy buds, petals or a combination of the two. The red rose is preferred and most easily acquirable. but you can use any color. I typically purchase a 4oz bag of Organic Dried Rose Buds And Petals that will last me about a month.

If you have a rose garden and can spare enough roses to harvest, of course, that’s preferable. Just be sure you don’t use any pesticides on those plants and if you already have, I would not recommend using them (Also, Be sure to dry the petals/buds out if you choose this method).

You can use as much or as little as you would like, though I would recommend 10ml of rose for every 4oz of water. This would be about a cup of rose tea. This is the ideal amount for most uses.

Place the rose buds/petals in a tea infuser strainer. If you don’t have one or can’t afford one and you’re already a coffee drinker, you can use a coffee filter and tie that together using a thread, or if you don’t have any thread, dental floss, with the rose buds/petals inside.

Boil some water and let it cool slightly to just under boiling. Pour water over the strainer and leave for 5 minutes. Shake around strainer in water to ensure all the nutrients are released and remove.

So now that we have our rose water, what to do with it? Well, my favorite thing to do with this amazing extract is to drink it hot as tea. Even when drunk, the rose is said to hold anti-aging properties and has long been used in cosmetics and cleansers. Drinking rose tea can:

  • Enhance your mood
  • Prevent acne
  • Slow down the aging process
  • Improve skin tone/ overall skin health
  • Aid your body as a diuretic
  • Reduce Anxiety

Besides drinking as tea, you can also enjoy your rose water as “rose enhanced water”. You can achieve this by diluting 4oz of rose water that you have made with 12-16oz purified natural water. This is ideal for aiding in hydration with the added benefits of the rose extract.

You can also place your pure rose water in a container and store it for use as a daily toner. Just use a cotton pad to evenly distribute the rose water on your face as you would any other toner. I would suggest using glass for the container to enhance quality but that is often difficult to find in anything other than a mason jar. If you don’t want to use a mason jar, any kind of plastic spray bottle/container will work.

A spray bottle could also be used to spritz your face for a freshening effect and to aid in fighting acne! Rose water has been known to hold anti-fungal properties and to cure eczema. If you suffer from eczema, you can help treat it by using a cotton pad and gently rubbing on the affected area *If you have eczema please see a doctor, these claims have not been evaluated by the FDA*.

There are so many other ways that the rose can be used and this is just a few of them. These methods and daily habits have helped me to live my life in a more rose-like way by inspiring feelings of love and happy thoughts and inducing dream-like feelings of floatiness in my everyday life. Only God could have created such an amazing flower with so many wonderful benefits. It’s because of Him that I’m able to write this article and that the rose itself has these qualities.

God bless you, Amen. ✝️🙏💕
